Washington Global Health Alliance Ambassador (WGHAA) curriculum is an interdisciplinary eleventh grade curriculum integrating mathematics, chemistry and U.S. history around themes of global health; pilot curriculum focuses on tuberculosis, malaria, cholera and influenza. 

The goals for this curriculum include: 

  • Engaging future global health leaders in studies that will prepare them for the wide range of possible careers in science, policy, field work and technology (to name but a few.)
  • Accessing and analyzing current global health information
  • Advancing student problem-solving and analytical reasoning skills in eleventh grade students in science, technology, math (STEM) and social studies classrooms, as well as around related global health challenges
  • Supporting student collaboration and communication skills
  • Supporting student advancement in global health fields of study
  • Developing novel and proven assessment tools that document gains in student global health awareness, analytical reasoning, STEM achievement and overall matriculation rates in pilot schools.
